Antonio Velázquez is head of Wood Mackenzie’s Mexico power market research. His main activities are the analysis and forecast of key power market fundamentals. He also monitors the sector’s regulatory framework and tracks project development.
Antonio has more than 10 years of experience in the Mexican electricity industry, having worked as a wholesale market operator for several qualified suppliers since 2015 analyzing market data and aiding with the development of their commercial models. Furthermore, he has also worked as a senior technical consultant in the energy trading and risk management (ETRM) industry and as a freelance consultant in the energy sector.
Antonio is an electrical Engineer and holds an M.Sc. in power systems from the Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo (UMSNH) and is currently completing an M.Sc. in Finance from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM).
